About the role
Elections BC is seeking an Accounting and Procurement Specialist to join the Finance and Administration (F&A) work unit. F&A oversees financial management, budgeting, procurement, contract and facilities management, and payroll and benefits administration. 

The Accounting and Procurement Specialist supports operations at headquarters and district electoral officers across the province during electoral events by overseeing the full cycle of financial and procurement transactions, including providing support for contract administration and facilities management.

Elections BC has a hybrid work model where staff are supported to work 3 days per week in the Victoria office and 2 days from home, when operationally feasible. All staff work in office full time during electoral events. Job Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must legally be eligible to work in Canada. Eligibility to work in Canada is granted through citizenship, permanent resident status, or a work permit. 

Education and Experience:

o    Post-secondary certification or diploma in office administration, business administration, or a related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of *related experience; OR
o    Certificate in office administration or related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of *related experience; OR
o    A minimum of 5 years of *related experience.

*Related experience must include:

o    Providing administrative support in a financial, accounting, procurement, or payroll role.
o    Using office software such as Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel), databases and spreadsheets at an intermediate level of proficiency. 
o    Providing customer service in a high-volume environment.
o    Experience in facilities and space planning.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

•    Previous experience working for EBC, and/or related experience in electoral administration.
•    Experience using PeopleSoft and/or Dayforce payroll systems.
•    Experience using the Corporate Financial System (CFS).
•    Experience using the BC Bid application.

•    Work outside of normal business hours, occasionally, to meet deadlines and/or extended hours of operation.
